How I Attached My Stamps in my Stamp Book

How I Attached the Stamps in My Own Stamp Book
Yes, my unfulfilled childhood desire required me to put together my own stamp book. I beg forgiveness from Marvel's own Odin and Zeus for the destruction of beaten up reading copies of Bronze Age books. Although many of the stamps were acquired loose from eBay, relying on that excuse is sort of like pretending the meat at the supermarket didn't come from animals...

Anyway, I wanted some way to attach the stamps that didn't permanently cover up the artwork in the stamp book, so I settled on using "hinged" clear holders that are used by general stamp collectors. Each one had to be cut to size, and you still have to wet the back of the plastic holder to allow the glue to take hold, but when placed, you have a "hinge" from which stamps can be removed, or you can simply flip them up to see the artwork in the stamp book behind the stamp (or the back of the stamp itself).

A couple decades from now, I'm sure the glue on these hinges will be just as crappy as the tape and glue you see in stamp books lovingly put together back in the 70's...but I can enjoy it for now. Childhood wish fulfilled. Here's a few pictures...
